Meeting these two was just meant to be! Our team was already at Belle Meade Plantation setting up for a wedding, when a lovely bride walked into the venue with her parents in tow. I believe it may have been the father of the bride who asked me for my information first, since he saw me running around and likely figured he didn’t want that to be him a year from that month! From there it was such a great time getting to know and love the energy of this entire family. They were such a joy to be around and had such enthusiasm over everything, there was just no way this day could have gone anything but perfectly – even when a downpour started and we moved to Plan B at the last minute!
It isn’t uncommon that I only get to meet the groom at the rehearsal, and this was no exception. So when I met Corey and his fun-loving personality, and I could just see how it was so perfect for Leslie, I knew this was going to be a beautiful marriage. In fact, watching them take photos, I could quite literally see Leslie glowing in the sunlight, as the sky came perfectly through the trees and lit her beautiful (and annoyingly perfect at all times) hair like a halo. The details that she chose were just lovely, and it was clear her taste was top notch all around! Such a beautiful wedding that we were happy to be a part of!
One of the coolest parts of Nashville is the history that lives in this city. In the midst of a regular street, you can come upon the most beautiful glimpse into the past. Kylie and Collin’s wedding was at the historic Riverwood Mansion, where the property transports you to another time full of seclusion and greenery.
Kylie and Collin recently moved to Nashville and are taking the city straight on, with energy and enthusiasm and love to conquer all! It is their amazing spirit that made this day even brighter – even when we thought there might be rain, they kept moving forward like nothing was going to stop them. It is so refreshing to see such laughter and excitement – a gorgeous wedding that is going to turn into a beautiful marriage. So honored to be there to witness it all!
Right from the first phone call I knew these two were going to be an amazing time, and I was right, all the way down to the cocktails! Working in the liquor industry has some perks, and this crowd knew how to party!
But it is the internal spirit of these two that was totally beautiful. In Nashville, there are pretty high odds of rain at any given time of year. So when the forecast was showing 50% chance all wedding week, the two decided to take their chances and go ahead with Plan A all the way. For them, there was no Plan B (ahem, we still had one up our sleeves), and that is the way they will continue to live their lives. Walking right into the moment, smiles on their faces, rain or shine.
PS. It was a perfectly gorgeous day without even a rain drop! Enjoy these sweet pics by Abigail Bobo Photography!
It is so much fun to work a new venue, especially one that isn’t even done being built yet! Kelly and Ren chose the Old Glory Distilling Company while it was still missing walls, and just trusted that it was going to turn out amazing – and it did. This takes the kind of client with a little vision and a lot of trust, not to mention a free spirit to go with the flow.
And that is how we would describe this wedding. With free spirited florals and classic neutral tones, mixed with the modernity of cement floors and a band made for a party – this wedding was a melting pot of all things amazing! So in awe by our teams hard work and the team of vendors who brought it all together, I think it was a pretty spectacular night for this fun and vibrant bride and groom!
Sometimes a whirlwind romance will just take you over! And Jessica and John are that exception. They met and just knew, married at the gorgeous Belle Meade Plantation a year later, with family and friends by their sides. I had such a fun time choosing all the details with Jessica and her mother, where we could focus on the pretty little details and watch an exquisite team of vendors pull it all together! It was a perfect day.
One of my favorite venues in town is Belle Meade Plantation. It is so classic and timeless, and the bright eyed bride came up with ideas that were a perfect contrast to bring together the old and new. I think we bonded because she lives in my beloved San Francisco, and I in their hometown of Nashville. Talking to her felt like I was at home part of the time.
With a gorgeous bride and handsome groom, Sarah and Will kept their styles traditional for this event. But the design, oh the beautiful design, brought in a bit of new with bright bold colors, and a bit of old with vintage napkins and gold silverware. It was a perfect blend of two families coming together to celebrate this union.
A bride in Boston, a groom in Tampa, a mom in Alaska and a wedding in Malibu. Yup, this couple made the right call when they realized that they might need a little help getting things set up for their wedding! And boy were we glad they asked us. Because this beauty had some great ideas in mind to make her wedding unique and classic!
As two medical professionals, you’d think they didn’t have much time for planning, but Mariah gave attention to all the important details and knew how (and when!) to let the professionals truly shine at their work and make the day perfect. Love all the uniqueness with the gorgeous green specialty rentals! It was a delight for our California team to work with these two, and we know they have a lot to look forward to in their marriage.
My California roots were itching today, as this special couple comes all the way from right outside my home town! California girl meets boy from the South. Love finds a second chance sometimes, and for these two well-matched lovebirds, today was the day. A few of my favorites moments were these …
We had a true family table – bride, groom, and three kids in the round, just like at home over a family style service meal (if only all our home cooking was as good as Chef & I!)
When the bride said “I don’t know if I’ve ever felt this loved, but today, I believe it” (tear…).
When the groom excused his poor dancing skills, yet still performed his practiced box steps with such precision – only a Dr. could look so focused!
Lastly, when four girls, including the bride’s daughter, performed a very special dance to “Love Shack”! It was the perfect party starter!
It was the most perfect, first day of spring. And the perfect first day, to unite this family.
It’s funny what stands out at each event after doing so many. You’d think they would start to blend together, but there’s always something. For this wedding, I would have to say the word ‘community’. So many people came together on this one, especially the father of the bride, to show how much they love this adorable couple. These families blended beautifully and their friends no how to support them and have a good time! And it’s easy to see why.
Kristen has been a sweetheart from our first interaction. And Cody, while we may have only met at the rehearsal (like so many other grooms that I meet at the tail end), he was full of hugs and gratitude as the night ended, as he and his wife had tears in their eyes so sad that it was over. It was a beautiful day that we were honored to be a part of.
