Celebrate: Jenny & Chuck

Jenny and Chuck are the quiet but thoughtful sort of couple that are just perfect for each other.  They’re both very simple, but intentional in all their choices and I loved that about them.

The morning of their wedding, we all woke up and saw that the ground was covered in snow.  It didn’t matter that one week prior it was 70+ degrees out, in Nashville, you never know what is coming!  But that didn’t even phase these two.  While the snow melted just in time to take a few pictures outdoors, their wedding was a perfect and flawless affair with close family in friends. Congrats!

Celebrate: Gizzm + Will

I had the pleasure of going to Turkey 3.5 years ago, and I fell in love with the country.  The people were amazing, the food was delicious and the sites were breathtaking.  I think my husband loved their coffee the best and I loved the turkish delight and the views.  So it was such a joy when I got called from the mother of the groom, saying that her son was marrying a native Turkish woman and they wanted to have their ceremony and reception in Nashville!  I love multi-culture relationships, so I was on board from the start!  It was amazing how Gizzm really wanted to enjoy our local customs and traditions vs. her own, and so gave her a beautiful and memorable day.  Even though our outdoor ceremony got rained out, the day couldn’t have been more beautiful for these two.

Oh What a Wonderful Year – 2016!

2016 was such a whirlwind of a year, I’m finding it hard to believe I’m writing this blog post and that it is already the end of December!

Every year I get a little nervous as January rolls in because it really feels like a crazy opportunity for my little business to grow.  I officially started this company exactly 6 years ago as 2011 came to a close, when I decided to put all my eggs in one basket and give Christina Logan Design a real shot.  Turns out it was a shot worth taking and each year at this time as I reflect on that decision, I feel extreme gratitude to the amazing clients that let me be a part of their life and trust me with handling decisions on such a personal moment in time.

Even though we haven’t gotten to blog all of these yet, here is a recap of some of our amazing weddings this year, with our last one to ring in the New Year tomorrow night!  Happy Holidays and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2017!

Celebrate: Eric + Blair

I had been waiting for this one. Right when gay marriage was legalized in Tennessee, I got a call from Eric to go to lunch.  I had my hopes up but didn’t want him to know it because I didn’t want to pressure him into thinking he had to ask me to do his wedding.  The moment he hinted at it I was filled with excitement and jumped on the opportunity!  I love these two men, as their kind souls and ridiculous humor clicks perfectly with my sense of honesty and sarcasm.  It was such a fun year getting to work side by side with them to make this day beautifully minimal and classic, and about uniting a family.  I’ll miss this time together!

Celebrate: Amber + Will

One of my favorite moments with these two had nothing to do with their wedding at all.  In fact, I was working a different wedding, and heading into the front entrance of a large hotel downtown.  Walking towards me and laughing were two people with ridiculous hats on backwards and sideways, a sun tan and a buzz from the local beer festival; it was Amber and Will, laughing and having a good time – they were just as surprised to see me! It is these organic moments of seeing my couples having fun and loving life that makes me remember why I do this.  Because watching two people truly in love and having fun is what it’s all about.  Needless to say, they had an awesome party with a packed dance floor!

Celebrate: Gabrielle + Clay

I fell in love with Gabrielle the moment we first spoke because she is the exact same as my sweet cousin, Gabriela.  Their light-hearted, fun-loving personalities, their good energy and their looks (not to mention their names), I swear they could be twins!  This was one of those amazing destination wedding experiences, as all her guests traveled from out of town to celebrate these two.  I had so much fun planning all the details with the bride and her mom, it was like having two friends that we got to chat weekly about all the bits to bring the wedding to fruition.  So sad they don’t live locally, but I know I’ll see these gems again.  Enjoy!

Celebrate: Leslie + Corey

It isn’t uncommon that I only get to meet the groom at the rehearsal, and this was no exception.  So when I met Corey and his fun-loving personality, and I could just see how it was so perfect for Leslie, I knew this was going to be a beautiful marriage.  In fact, watching them take photos, I could quite literally see Leslie glowing in the sunlight, as the sky came perfectly through the trees and lit her beautiful (and annoyingly perfect at all times) hair like a halo.  The details that she chose were just lovely, and it was clear her taste was top notch all around!  Such a beautiful wedding that we were happy to be a part of!

Celebrate: Ladies in Love

This post is long overdue, back from March when we had the joy of watching Alyssa and Kristin get married.  Alyssa and Kristen put a lot of faith into us.  They were willing to work with us right after Christina made her move to Nashville, and boy are we lucky they did!  Because this wedding had an all-star team of vendors that we are lucky to have worked with!

Although this post is delayed, we can’t think of a better time to share these photos than now, when our nation has made strides in allowing marriage be open for everyone, including our amazing friends in the LGBT community.  Of course we have had the honor of celebrating with our Californian clients, and we look forward to working with many Tennesseans as well!

It was a year and a half in the making for this special day, and even more powerful because these ladies are another example of why we love and support gay marriage!

Celebrate: Desert I Do’s

The second I picked up the phone, I was hooked.  Something about an English accent will do that to you.  I’m still not sure why Americans get so excited over British (or Australian … or French…) accents, but it really just makes everything a little bit more exciting.  And fate was sealed.

We fell in love with Izzy immediately, and once we had our first hilarious conversation with Jordan and his warm, direct, sarcastic personality, we knew it was going to be a fun year ahead!  Settling into the super-mod ACE Hotel, we got our creative hats on to make this occasion really shed light of the personalities of this amazing couple.  They wanted their inner spirit to show, full of colors and pink flamingos, and Elvis … and drinks.  Lots of drinks.  It was truly a party to remember, and these two hit a home run with a full dance floor.

So happy to be a part of it all … a glimpse into an epic start to the New Year.

Celebrate: Erika and Sheldon!

The story behind this lovely couple is so inspirational. They didn’t meet in some high-end club and catch one anothers’ eye from across the room, they didn’t meet at a cocktail party, and they definitely didn’t meet using online dating… they met one another fighting for our country. That’s right, they met one another across the world serving in the United States Army. Despite the circumstances, they managed to find love amidst the battle.

I am so honored to be a part of such a beautiful marriage!
