How to make an easy Boutonniere

I have definitely made a few boutonniere’s in my day (and pricked a few fingers), but it’s always good to learn some new tricks from a professional!  Thanks again to Lotus & Lily for our fab workshop.  Here is a little trick I learned that I’d never seen before.

You actually don’t put the wire into the flower!  You’re going to fold it in half and bend the edge to make a little cradle.

Then you put the flower next to it for support, and use floral tape to fasten the two together so it sort of leans on the wire.

And next you choose some other fun little flowers to spruce the main flower up.  These accents give it a real ‘pop’!  Now I may have gotten a little carried away and put a lot on there, but you can make it as big or small as you need!  This picture shows the back/side.  You will want to pin it with the little guys in the front and the long pink against his jacket.  Clip at the appropriate length and you’re all set!
